Modern Rock favorites THOUSAND FOOT KRUTCH releases this week its first-ever independent video, "War Of Change," from the band's independently released, 5-star acclaimed and No. 1 selling Billboard Hard Rock album, The End Is Where We Begin. The video can be seen now at http://youtu.be/HdnTSXUWd3E. The single and album can also be downloaded at iTunes® and Amazon.com.
"This song embodies the heart and soul of this record [The End Is Where We Begin]," says TFK frontman Trevor McNevan. "I think it captures that urgency - that there are wars going on all around us and inside us. There's something beautiful about 'the sound of change,' and I think this song covers those ideals and the essence of battle. Change can be beautiful and painstaking, but rarely is it comfortable."
Loudly declaring that "everything is about to change," the band carries its rally cry into its 16-city "War Of Change Tour" launching Feb. 21 in Columbia, MD and featuring Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch and his band Love and Death, as well as The Letter Black and The Wedding.
The tour is named for TFK's hit single and video, "War Of Change," which became the band's 13th No. 1 at Christian radio, landed at No. 1 on SiriusXM Satellite Radio's Octane Big-Uns Countdown late last year and No. 23 on SiriusXM's "Gigantic 50 of 2012" (along with TFK's "Let The Sparks Fly" at No. 16). After debuting at No. 38 Jan. 2 at Active Rock, the single rages to No. 1 at KCXX (Riverside, CA) and Top 20 and climbing at WJJO (Madison, WI), KAZR (Des Moines), WIIL (Chicago), CIMX (Detroit), WWBN (Flint, MI), WZBH (Ocean City, MD), WIYY (Baltimore, MD), WXQR (Greenville, NC), WHXR (Portland, ME), WRAT (Jersey Shore, NJ) and more. It is also gaining spins at hardDrive XL, WBUZ (Nashville), WEDG (Buffalo, NY), Music Choice Rock, WARQ-FM (Columbia, SC), KCGQ FM (Gordonville, MO) and many others.
Playing "War Of Change," "Let The Sparks Fly" and other fan favorites and hits from the new album, TFK's tour is sponsored by Mocha Club (www.themochaclub.org), an online community of people giving up the cost of a few mochas a month to fund relief and development projects in Africa. "War Of Change" is also featured on TFK's first remix EP, Metamorphosiz: The End Remixes, Vol. 1, which released Dec. 4 as an exlusive to digital retailers. The EP features 5 songs in all from The End Is Where We Begin by noted remix geniuses Steve Sidelnyk, Rob Persaud, Robbie Bronnimann, Andy Hunter and Solomon Olds. Spending time at No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Album chart in its first week out, the EP futher sparked ESPN2 to load up "War Of Change," "We Are" and "Let the Sparks Fly" remix tracks for placements on its show "First Take,"which is seen Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
As the band prepares to release its next remix EP in the coming months, The End Is Where We Begin also continues double-digit sales percentage growth over the band's previous best-selling album, Welcome to the Masquerade. Receiving over 1,800, 5-star average customer reviews on iTunes® alone for The End Is Where We Begin, TFK has found that sometimes the best way to move forward is to go back to the basics, taking all of the raw energy and emotion of the past and channeling it into the present.
For those who've been following the Ontario, Canada-bred players since their formation in 1997, it's been a continuously escalating highlight reel that includes best-selling albums, top Active Rock hits (including "War Of Change," "Let The Sparks Fly," "Fire It Up," and "Move"), tours like last summer's Third Annual Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival, plus a slew of soundtrack slots. In fact, the group has literally infiltrated every facet of pop culture, from ongoing ESPN appearances, to various NASCAR, MLB, NHL, WWE, NCAA and NFL airings (including the 2010 Super Bowl), along with the "GI Joe" movie trailer, WGN-TV's "Smallville" and EA Sports' NHL 2010 and 2013 video games.
